When Good Standing started designing a reno-addition for their attached neighbours, these homeowners reached out to us for help to realize their own distinct house transformation. When they first bought the semi-detached property in the Dufferin Grove neighbourhood, our clients knew it was a fixer upper. There were issues with the roof and siding, the floors were slanting, and the space was awkwardly chopped up into smaller rooms in an already narrow house. They knew they wanted to focus attention on the ground floor living room and kitchen, with cooking and entertaining being a large part of what they envisioned for their new home. Getting creative with the challenges of a narrow space, Good Standing proposed a double kitchen island for plenty of worktop surface and closed storage to hide life’s clutter. An impressive double height lounge at the back of the ground floor is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day.
